Before petroleum became the
basis for the world’s industrial chemicals, during the
early years of the industrial revolution methanol,
charcoal, tar, pitch, ethyl acetate and creosote – all
fundamental ingredients used throughout industry – were
derived from industrial hemp.
What
we can do with hemp:
Improve health and well being via functional hemp food and medicine,
Make a 5 times cheaper, yet cleaner fuel from hemp seed and cellulose,
Provide farmers the opportunity to grow a crop with many uses including cleaning compromised soil and eliminating need for expensive toxic herbicides,
Provide strong fiber
Produce biodegradable bio-plastics and composites
